Advisory Council
Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Disease and Disablement
The Advisory Council is a statutory body, established by New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Laws and Regulations, advising the Governor and Legislature on the state’s workers’ compensation system.
Role:
- Provides annual reports and recommendations on rules and regulations.
- Appoints members to the Independent Medical Examination provider approval panel.
- Functions in an advisory capacity only; it cannot make recommendations on individual cases.
Membership:
- Six voting members appointed by the Governor: three representing labor and three representing business.
- The WCA Director serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member.
